Tile Sealing Wollert

Sealing is the application of a chemical solution to an unsafe tile or stone that penetrates into the surface.Choosing from the thousands of tiles and complaints available in today’s market is no easy task. However, the safety of your choice is important. Sealing tiles and grout provides this protection and can extend the life of your tiles and grout as well as help keep them clean, hygienic and presentable.Different tiles and grouts require different types of seals. Tile can be an expensive investment so sealing it straight after installation is a wise choice.

Generally, ceramic tiles never need to be sealed, while other types of natural stone are included. In all cases, the grout lines should be sealed. This process can feel like an additional cost to purchase tiles and grout, but the cost of not stamping and not protecting them can increase up to 5 times.Wollert Tile Restoration has spent the last decade working with different tiles, complaints, cleaners and seals so when you choose us you can be sure that you are in safe hands. Unless new, tiles and grout should be cleaned before sealing with the appropriate seal. Even in fresh conditions, it is important to remove all grout fog before sealing.

Types of Sealers:

Topical Sealers:

Conditions are sealing surface coatings. They are designed to sit on rocks or tiles and offer high gloss finish. They are water based products made from polymers and are the cheapest to apply. Thematic sealers are applied to the surface after cleaning and can go up to 4 coats deep. The more coats there are, the brighter the surface.

Penetrating Sealers:

Penetrating seals defile tiles and stone surfaces to provide protection. During application, the resin lines the surface holes and creates a multi layer bond that is then absorbed by the tile and removes water, oil and stains. Because this type of seal is absorbed into the stone or tile, it does not alter the surface appearance or affect the slip-resistant properties. This means that if your surface was non-slip before sealing, it will still be non-slip after sealing.
